Nassau/Paradise Island
Welcome to Nassau Island, home of the Bahamian national capital on the 11th largest island, New Providence. And Paradise Island, 685 acres of pure bliss, is connected to Nassau by two bridges. Nassau became the center point of the Bahamas since the shipwrecking days of the legendary pirate, Blackbeard. The Island is also prized for its historic and preserved beauty of the Victorian Mansions, cathedrals, 18th century fortresses, and the Queen’s Staircase whose 66 steps leads to a view you don’t want to miss. Both Islands were developed almost exclusively to delight and entertain visitors.
Nassau’s exquisite features offer ancient forts, elegant architecture, and fine local and international crafts and goods. An abundance of posh resort hotels, casinos, cabaret shows, and cruise ship docks make Nassau a vibrant center for entertainment and relaxation. Nassau’s historic Bay Street, also considered the city’s “Main Street”, and is lined with shops, pubs and cafes that maintain its historic feel while offering all the amenities our visitors’ desire.
Downtown Nassau, Parliament Square, is the traditional center for the Bahamian government, where the main buildings were erected in the early 1800’s as well as a marble statue of Queen Victoria. Not too far from Parliament Square stands Fort Charlotte built in 1788, complete with a moat, open battements, and dungeons.
For a larger perspective of Nassau, go across the Cay to Coral Island, with its hundred foot tower and commanding view. Or descend into its underwater observatory for close encounters with stingrays and other water creatures. You can even send details of your adventure from the world’s only underwater mailbox. Or relax with a 20 minute sail to Blue Lagoon Island, lined with several programs that allow you to interact with dolphins.
If you think Nassau had plenty to do, let’s venture across the Bridge of Nassau Island to Paradise Island, where even more adventure awaits you. Paradise is famous for its Princess cruises and most popular Atlantis Resort with its exiting casinos and nightlife. And there is plenty to do for the kids with a 141 acre water park and a kids club with more activities then a kid could imagine.
There is also plenty of luxurious resorts and inns to choose from as well as a vast amount of activities, with a number of marinas and boats for hire, the colonial past in its architecture and horticulture, sparkling soft white sandy beaches, golfing, tennis, swimming, gourmet dining, exquisite entertainment, and under water ocean views, you will never be without something to do.
Grand Bahama Island
Grand Bahama Island would be our next most popular island in the Bahamas which includes the world’s largest underwater cave systems, three national parks, endless beaches, and crisp blue water with enchanting marine life. Grand Bahama is the home of Freeport/Lucaya, the nation’s second city, with a faster pace and a more cosmopolitan atmosphere than the old-world sophistication of Nassau.
Freeport/Lucaya is a sportsman’s fantasy paradise. Championship golf, tennis, fishing, and scuba diving are designed especially for your pleasure.
Grand Bahama has hidden histories and a deliciously shady past, where a good part of today’s deserted beaches where home for the hideouts of rum-runners during the prohibition. As well as, pirate activity in its past and present years and a rustic culture to endeavor. So come and explore the earliest Arawak civilizations, scavenge the national parks of the islands, roam the secluded beaches and the underwater villages of sea life and your imagination will always be content.
